Donate Books, CDs and DVDs
By donating items, you help the Richland Library Friends and Foundation raise money to support innovative library programs. Our dedicated volunteers sort, price and shelve these items for resale at our quarterly book sales.
Donations of books, CDs and DVDs are accepted at all library locations and staff will provide you with a receipt for the number of items donated. Please make sure you assess the value of your materials for tax purposes (if appropriate) prior to dropping off your donation, as staff are unable to place a dollar value on your donation. Also, please deliver your books in boxes or bags that will not need to be returned to you, as staff will not be able to repack your donations into other boxes or containers.
- Four Boxes or Less - Drop off at any Richland Library location during normal business hours.
- More than Four Boxes - Drop off at the loading dock area on Park Street behind Richland Library Main.
Donate Items of Historical Significance
The Library's Walker Local and Family History Center accepts donations of local historical significance. Donated materials might include: yearbooks, books, family histories, maps, funeral programs or local photographs.
If accepted, these materials are added to the collection and are available for in-house genealogical and historical research. If you have materials that you’d like to donate, please contact the Walker Local and Family History Center for more information.
