Eat Fresh Freely
Free, fresh produce for our neighbors. No questions asked.
Eat Fresh Freely is Richland Library’s pilot community fridge initiative, designed to provide neighbors with free, fresh, and healthy food, with no questions asked. Located at select library locations, these refrigerators are stocked with locally sourced produce to support access to healthy foods, increase food security, and promote wellness across our community.
Funding for this project is made possible by the Bagwell Revocable Living Trust in memory of Marianne and Ed Bagwell.
How it works:
- Find a fridge near you:
- Stop by anytime the library is open. Look for the community fridge at one of the participating locations.
- Take what you need. Fresh produce is free and available while supplies last.
- Mark the tracker. On the side of each fridge, you’ll find a community tracker. Please color in a 🍓 when you take produce. This helps us understand the impact the fridge is making in our community.
Where does the produce come from?
The fridges are stocked each week with fresh fruits and vegetables from Toms Creek Family Farms, a family-run farm in Hopkins, SC, dedicated to bringing healthy, local food to the community.
